1.802 has definetely broken the load cargo routine

Post by castor troy »

I know pre 1.802 there has always been the problem with not loading troops properly, although I have to admit that I have seen this only perhaps 20 times in 2000 turns. I had never problems with loading cargo.

But since I´ve upgraded to 1.802 I have problems with loading my AKs or TKs with supply, ressources or oil.

I think every 10th cargo TF has now problems. It starts loading and stops it sometimes after one turn, sometimes two or three turns later BUT before it´s completely loaded.

Just wanted to point that out! [8|]

I really appreciate the effort that the Matrix team still puts in this game [&o] but every patch I wonder why two things are fixed and one or two are broken. And this issue is important for me, because it´s just crap if you send your cargo TFs around and they´re only loaded between 10 and 60%..... [:@]

I have had this problem a lot pre 1.802. Not so much with supplies, but almost constantly with resources and oil. It usually seemed to happen when there was more ship capacity then cargo. It would get to the point where I would put the TF to "Do not Unload", then check them every turn to make sure they were still loading. Once a majority of the cargo was off of the docks and in the hold, I would send the TF on it's merry way (even if it wasn't 100% full).

I've seen the same thing, loading and unloading all sorts of cargo. Not only does it sometimes stop loading or unloading prior to being 100% loaded/offloaded, often unloading is initiated during the loading process. I've a whack of saves, now to sort through them. Been waiting for more examples but if others are seeing this we have enough.

I encountered this : in my game with rob, I loaded a beached airgroup from an island with an AK. the airgroup had no Aviation support and it was 6 aircraft flyable and 2 on repair. since there could no repair possible ( lack of Aviation support ) I decided to sent in an AK and to load this group for rescue. last turn I loaded it and it was aboard the AK. I sent it home.

on this turn, the AK is 4 hexes away heading towards the home port but the airgroup remianes now on the island with 0/8 planes, indicating that is was loaded aboard that ship and magically, it has theft the AK.

I had this problem occasionally too. My fix was to set the convoy to do not unload and have the home port and destination be the port the TF was sitting in. When the TF was one turn from filling, I'd set the target port to where I want it to go and then the next turn, after it left the port, set it to unload. It took a little more time but it worked most of the time.

Is it a fragment? I have this problem with land unit fragments. They load, the ship leaves and it teleports back to the original location.

The only thing I can offer is that if the planes are all destroyed, the pilots will teleport to the unit.

The pronlem I have noticed...
If you disband any TF at a port where other TF's are either loading or unloading anything, the other TF's stop loading/unloading and go idle.

A big pain, because if you don't catch it immediately, the next turn your TF is off without its cargo.

Hmm I have always had this problem

So much so that I set ships to not unload while they are picking up cargo at a port.

I wait till they are full then send them off and then when they reach the destination port I click on the fleet to unload.

I have had a couple of supply TFs leave port only partially filled since 1.802 (out of many TFs loaded). I don't think that it was anything I did since I haven't changed my routines at all and I never had this problem before...

I'm seeing the same thing. It affects resources, oil, supply, fuel, and troops. I've taken to setting the TF to do not unload and giving it a local destination.

So far this has not happened to me even one time in 1.802 (knock on wood), and I have been feverishly loading and unloading all manner of cargo (including oil and resources) in ports of all sizes all over the map.

One thing that I have noticed that I don't really recall happening before is that if a transport TF is in its destination hex, it will immediately unload whatever cargo it has in that hex, regardless of whether or not it is set to "Do not unload."

I also had numerous ocasions involving TFs leaving port after loading just for one turn. Only in 1.802...[:(]

I've have the same issue when loading troops mostly.  I tend to set Unload/Do Not Unload to do not and don't set a destination until the convoy has fully loaded.   This seems to calm the problem a bit.  When I ship units I seem to need 50-100% extra capacity to ensure everything loads.  I've have a small unit that should fit in 2-3 cargo ships spread themselves over 5-10.  This prevents the convoy from loading any other units into it  that would fit into the convoy.  I've also learned to NEVER use load troops.  Load only the troops first then load any supplys you wish to carry.  If i don't do this it seems the convoys never will load ground units fully unless WAY over needed size.

don't know if anyone else have had these kind of problems/fixes.  I knew there were loading problems however.
