Landing Ju-52's and Sola Air Field

Post by Six-pk »

As you know a plane can land in 1 hex. Thats ok but in 'LIGHTNING STRIKES IN NORWAY' the landing is so crucial!

There are 2 air strips: 30,27(hex) to 63,27 /// and 36,39 to 52,8 .

This is a rule I made: The ju-52's have to roll to a stop about 6 hexes (thats 300
yards) for more realism.
Plus pilots don't make perfect landings!

You know what I did? Get dice out! pick the 'target hex' to land
in say 30,27....
roll one dice, a 1= 1st of 6 hexs to stop(35,27) /// 2 to 6 roll = ya
don't touch down.. you got to roll a [1]!!
By hex 12 your wheels touch automatically.

Six (i know i'm crazy Image
BTW Great battle WB! Image

If Six-Pack can't land 'em, just fly on. This is a pretty neat little idea, using a dice roll to determine hex to stop in...
"Holy boardgaming dice roll, Batma...er Six-Pack!

I'm glad you enjoyed that one.

Are you feeling alright, WB? You're stuttering. Image

I made the planes come in and fly almost to the end of the runway, with the first group pulled off the runway to the left and the second to the right.

BTW, has anyone been able to save the German command group?

You mean the German HQ A0 ? Yes this was possible . You just need to use smoke in the three directions but move them as last unit so that the enemy has used most off its shots. With their low ammo shooting is not an option . the bicycle units move after the first round and then you can go to get some ammo

Sorry, Billy Yank. I have no idea why this thing kept posting. Reminds of one of those old 45 records that gets stuck Image .

I saved the A0 by popping smoke, allowing a couple of units to draw fire and hiding in the trees for a couple of turns. Then I sneaked them up the road to the airport.

It ain't easy, but it can be done. WB

Ah, I always forget about smoke.

I don't define "my own" the way you want me to.
