How about the AI?

Battlefront features the power of battalion-level combat in some of this period's most bloody and intense conflicts: Saipan, Market Garden, Novorossisk, and Gazala. Players will have realistic control over their soldiers, with a tactical scale just large enough to make a telling difference in the strategic picture.

The AIs are very different (between DB and BF). The BF AI is capable of doing much more than the DB AI. It's also capable of screwing up much worse than the DB AI.

-- DB has a set series of instructions from the scenario designer and does its best to follow the instructions. A well written AI plan will whack a human player good. BF has so much more going on as a game that the AI is much more flexible. Each turn the AI selects the best possible plan from a group of instructions provided by the scenario designer. This way many more situations can be addressed (especially if there isn't a relatively clear frontline).

-- For BF, the new AI works much better than a DB style could. In terms of how well the BF AI does... Sometimes better than DB, sometimes worse (i.e. you aren't up against Rommel or Patton everytime)... sometimes you get Fredendall for an opponent[;)] This will vary from game to game of a given scenario. Also, the more freewilling the scenario (i.e. Gazala), the more variation in performance you see (i.e. more opportunity to select a course of action that results in the human player being able to get the upper hand).

Personally i think the AI at this moment in time is far more agressive on BII. BF AI is a good learning tool but i dont find it very challenging. Playing against humans is where its at [;)]
