2007 new owner game questions

Hey guys,

I just bought the game & it is a huge improvement over the 2005 edition. I have a few questions I was hoping that one of you could answer.

1) While starting up an association, on the Association Customization Options screen, there is an option to select Modern Closer Usage. Can someone direct me to what page in the manual it talks about this or maybe someone can explain it to me.

2) When clicking on a players name a new screen comes up with all of his stats, a picture, historical notes, etc. Could someone direct me to the page in the manual or maybe explain what the different colors represent. I have seen different shades of green. I have also seen yellow, red, and blue. My guess is that the players skill rating is good in the green section, so-so, in the yellow, & bad in the red. However, what would the blue stand for?

Ill try to answer best I can. The "Modern Closer Usage" is just that....It uses closers as they are used nowadays in baseball. In other words, with a 3 run or less lead the CPU will try to use the closer, unless he is already tired. Back in the older days of baseball, there really wasnt anything called a closer, so either a pitcher would pitch the whole game, even with a 3 run or less lead, or the manager would just use the best reliever they had to finish out a game.

You can find the legend for the color codes if you go to your Team Managment screen and click on either "View Lineups" or "View Rotation".

The color codes are:

Blue - Feeling Great
Dark Blue - Good
Tourqious Blue - Fair
Green - A little tired
Yellow - Worn Out
Dark Red - Very worn out
Orangy Red - Exhausted
Grey - Injured

The colors I am asking about is not on the Team Management screens. When you click on a players name a new screen will show up. The colors are shown in the area that shows Power, Contact, Arm, Hands, Speed, Etc.

Ah, sorry about that. You are talking about the colors inside the bubbles for contact, power, speed, etc... ? The colors just correspond to the rating. I use 1-10 ratings so to me it looks like 1-2 is red, 3-6 is yellow, 7-8 is dark green, and 9-10 is light green.

The only time I see a blue is when the "hands" rating is a 4.

You do see the ratings inside of the bubble right ? I think there was an issue at one time where some couldnt see the ratings inside the bubble.

This is just by taking a quick look through my current historical setup. It may be slightly different with a 1-100 scale or another different scale.
