4-players games possibilities?

Post by Pocus »

Hi all,

First congrats to Victor. His game seems so awesome and is getting deserved praises from everybody.

My question, as a potential player too. I see in the press kit that it is possible to play with up to 8 players. How it works in effect? Say I would like to play with 3 buddies the 'pacific war' scenario, what would be the turn scheme used? Care to enlighten me how the 'factions' would have to be shared?

And death to DirectX btw, at least Victor you won't have incompatibility problem. Lucky man. [:D]

I think max is 10 player games or is it 8???
But anyway i tink the scenario has to be designed with the number of players in mind. I dont know how many there are in the pacific one. I can check, be back in 5 min :P

But ofc it could be cool if each player could get a HQ to control and the supreme HQ handled production and allocated troops for his different sub commanders [8D]

Pacific is 4 player. Humans only.

hi pocus,

turn scheme is strictly I GO - U GO - NEXT ONE GOES - ETC.. AND BACK AGAIN TO FIRST PLAYER.

Next to the random games there are a lot of scenarios that support more the 2 players in the fictional directory: risk for 2- 3 players, diplomacy (with diplomatic options) for 2 to 9 players, usa pickem for 2 - 4 players and second civil war for 2- 6 players.

on the community website you can find a good ww1 scenario thats playable for upto 6 people i think.

kind regards,
vic

Yep, "Great War" is really nice.
You can play these games also with only two player, so you play three regimes and your opponent plays three regimes.
At least for Great War the regimes are set in a order which allows to play his 3 regimes and then send to the opponent
for his 3 turns. That way you send one time and after that the turn is finished. Faster than with 6 players.

2nd Civil War is also great in a PBEM with more than 2 players.

Hey Pocus, check out the "tolkienesque" scenario at the AT website. From one Dominions player to another...it's pretty cool[8D].

I've been playing it since release, each time i last a little longer. The unit graphics are very well done and remind me of the Warlords series of games. There are monsters to recruit and allies to choose from, the AI has the advantage with diplomacy as i get ganged up on. Very fun...Elves, Dwarves, Orc's, Human's...even a Dragon to recruit as an "air" unit. You choose between playing as good or evil...well done scenario[:)].
Okay, it's not Dominion's 3...but it could be a nice direction for the future[8D].
