Career Mode: Real life Free Agents and Trades

Post by dzanr »

When using real major league players in career mode, in there any mechanism to help ensure that free agent signings and trades that occurred in real life will also occur in my game association?

Example: I'm managing the Yankees and begin my replay in 1975. In real life, the Yankees signed Reggie Jackson as a free agent after the 1976 season. Will PureSim automatically move him to the Yankees roster before I begin 1977? If not, is there a mechanism for getting the game to offer a trade to the Yankees from whatever roster he's on at the end of 1976 (Oakland? Baltimore?).

Or instead is it the case that the game assigns the players to their real life teams as of the beginning year only, and from that point onward they may end up being moved to any other team with no regard to their real life teams as long as the association keeps going?

Thanks for the clarification.

You CAN toggle on "player affinity", but this doesn't guarantee that players will sign with their historic teams. PS is an "alternate history" type of real-player sim. To do historic player moves, you'd have to enable the commissioner role.

Other players can explain this process better than I can.
