moving to a new computer

Post by RedArgo »

Hello,

I just got a new computer and I want to move my current league on to that computer. What all do I need to grab to make it work?

Thanks,
Bill

Hello, Red!

The files you will need in order to play your association on another PC are the .PSA and the .psx file. The "almanacs" folder could be brought over too, but if you choose not to, you'd simply have to build the almanac from scratch on the new PC.

A semi-related issue: Is there a formal mechanism within the game to backup an association at regualrt intervals or on demand? I can't find any.

Or is it that the backup should consist of simply copying the .pas and the .psx files to the save location?

There is an option where you can have the game backup at the usual frequency (at the end of each season) or at every 40 game interval. This is accessible from the OPTIONS AND UTILITIES link in the HOME screen or the OPTIONS button on the MAIN screen. You will find this on the General Options tab; the drop-down is right in the middle.

Any additional backups you may desire would have to be done manually.

Hidden feature in there for this too:

CTRL-F9 makes a snapshot of the current association immediately.

CTRL-F10 restores to the last CTRL-F9 snapshot.
