Initiative Revisited

From the legendary team at 2 by 3 Games comes a new grand strategy masterpiece: Gary Grigsby’s War Between the States. Taking gamers back to the American Civil War, this innovative grand strategy game allows players to experience the trials and tribulations of the role of commander-in-chief for either side. Historically accurate, detailed and finely balanced for realistic gameplay, War Between the States is also easy to play and does not take months to finish.

Initiative Revisited

Post by PhilipB »

Folks,

A friend asked when I ws decribing the game why there is no overall initiative to see who goes first in a turn. I realize that it probably couldnt be addedd at this point of things, but I am curious, was this considered?

I think it would cause some pretty severe game design issues to have a side possibly going twice in a row, it would pretty much break a lot of the systems in the game and I don't see what it would add.

Eric,

I agree that at this point it wouldnt be do able.  We were just thinking that with all the rest of the initialtive related flow/vibe of the game , that seems to be the one thing that would have made sense, that was'nt added.
