Illegal Move

Post by rhess »

I just got the game and I'm trying to get the hang of it. I'm playing western allies and I keep getting "illegal move" when I try to invade France from England (playing the 1943 scenario). I have plenty of transports and supply is turned off so that cannot be the issue. The computer is managing production. I've tried the scenario multiple times and to attack different countries. It did work once (second of five tries) and I swear I have the exact same options chosen now. Is there a bug or some newbie error I'm making. I've been throught the manual cover to cover. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What version do you play? Try to update to version 1.202! Lots of bugs have been fixed in this version. By the way if you want to play a PBEM-Game against a human opponent - just PM me!

Frank,
Thanks for answering back.  I do have that version.  I suspect that my issue has to do with supply and movement points needed to attack via amphibious assault.  Like I said earlier I turned supply off but it is probably my lack of understanding of the game.  The units will move strategically to allied countries via the transport ships.  Do I need more of something for them to attack the emeny?  Once I get up to speed I'd love to play against you.  Right now I wouldn't be to much fun, especially since I don't seem to know how to get my units to attack via sea.  Thanks again for the help.

Can't invade in winter. Also, you need to have enough amphib points (not just transport points) in order to amphibiously invade. Transports have transport points and amphib points (a lot less amphib points though).
All understanding comes after the fact.

Thanks for all the help.  It was user error and not understanding the need for amphib points.  I just successfully got through a scenario and now have to master production points.
