Puresim Baseball 2007

Post by Dereck »

Can someone answer a question for me?

I have the old Front Page Sports Baseball game and have been playing a league since 1994. Unfortunately it's on an old laptop running Windows 98 and won't run on my XP operating system.

I had the old PureSim 2005 Gold but no longer have it install (don't know what happened). Anyways how similary to the Front Page Sports Baseball game is PureSim 2007? Can you control the pitches the pitchers throw like in the old Sierra game and the type of swings the batters make? I'm not interested in more than that (telling the pitcher to throw a fastball or the batter to try a power hit, etc).

Also what is different between PureSim 2005 Gold and this PureSim 2007?

Thanks

As for FPS Baseball, I never played it, so I don't have a clue. At this point, Shaun has moved to a different developer. As for PureSim 2007, I love it, BUT, I can no longer recommend spending the money.

In the present game, one cannot choose individual pitch types. You are given generalized defensive options, such as pitch around, guard lines, infield in and a few others.

I just realized how wrong-headed I came off as. Look, I bought PS twice, both pre-Matrix and the newer Matrix-issued version. I don't regret it for a moment, as the game has taken leaps and bounds over previous versions.

Here's the thing : times are tough, so I wrote the above post with this thought in mind. That being said, it's the best gaming investment I ever made, bar none.

This reminded me, there was a nifty utility for FPS Baseball '98 at that time. I think it was called RECORDS. It was along the lines of PureSims' Almanac. I used to get a buzz just looking at all those stats the thing compiled. I can't remember...did you do that utility, Shaun? I remember you did an editor utility for it and FBPro.
