PBEM test

Post by Marshall Ellis »

Hey guys:

I need some volunteers to help me test some MAJOR changes that I am trying to implement to the PBEM game! Basically, 1.08 "may" have simul Diplomacy and Economic phases if all goes well.

What I need is 5-7 players that are willing to start a new PBEM game (I do not want this in an existing game)! I need someone willing to host and communicate with me any issues!

NOTE: Testers, you are included in this invite but I wanted to reach out to the PBEM community as well!

BTW: This may require us a few restarts!

You can either reply here or email or PM me!

Thank you

I would be interested, what kind of turn around time are we looking at? (I'm not looking for a speedy game, that's why I ask)

You guys can discuss turn around times BUT I would like quick as well! I will leave that to the host.

WARNING: We may have several restarts here! The main purpose would be to get through a diplomacy and eco phase! I am playing it already but it's not the real thing without you guys!

Thank you

Sorry, I was just shocked to hear that Neverman was not looking for a speedy game.. lol

I am good with whatever the host wants also, I should be able to do a 24 hour without problems (no traveling in the near future that I can see...).

LOL! I just re-read Neverman's post and I read it wrong at first! LOL! I thought he was asking for a speedy game! I had to do a dbl-take! How funny! I am looking for a somewhat quick game and Neverman is not! Looks like I need to get back on my meds! LOL!

Do I dare ask what version we will be playing with...  (1.07-????)

Just wanted to make sure, I have nothing else going right now so I can use whichever version the host wants.  But, I just wanted to put it out there incase others are in other games that might not upgrade well for a test game..

I'm game for v1.08 pbem playtesting if Marshall needs another.  Full disclosure, I've been a playtester since v1.06.02 last month, primarily for updating the manual.  Btw, I have plenty of pbem and tcp/ip gaming experience, thank you, so it's not like I need to try pbem. [;)]

It is quite possible to have multiple versions on the same PC, just install a new clean version to a different directory and then update that one with the beta patches.  If folks aren't doing this and seeing the new features as they come out, they should consider it rather than only waiting for the official patches for their default installation.

I think he means PBEM for EiANW, not just PBEM.
