Questions about resources and planes

Post by moet »

Resources :

How much resources do we get it since we don't conquier any location during numerous turns ?

Planes :

I noticed that planes can fly (and remain in the sky) as long as they have fuel, but they always have fuel ! Every other motorized vehicles have to refuel but not the planes ?

Also, planes can't attack under bad weather conditions, but they can fly and recon under those same bad conditions. This seems illogical to me.

In order to get large amount of resources, you need to attack and capture victory hexes which give you resources (you can check that by placing your mouse on the hex).

As to aircraft: bad weather air to ground operations were possible, but not likely to cause much damage, which is why you can only attack other air units when it rains for example. Aircraft have little difficulty flying around when it snows, as they tend to fly above the clouds and fog tends to stick close to the ground too. However, they are not likely to locate or engage enemy air units. All weather operational doctrines were still in development.

As in the first Panzer General games, aircraft don't use fuel because it doesn't fit in with the scale of the game.

If you really want to attack an enemy air unit in bad weather, and you know where it is, just move one of your own air units into the same hex (make sure none of yor units has line of sight to the target, having spotted the unit during the turn makes no difference as long as you don't have line of sight to the target). It's most certainly gamey, but so is the AI refitting entire air units when you can't do anything about it.
