Personally I would think that the risks are too great. I had a game corrupt probably during patching (that went wrong) or when I moved a save between a laptop (where I had been playing the game) to my new desktop (where I now play the game) and the error was only spotted (by someone else) after I noticed somethin whacky and posted it here. Now that has cost me a restart and I was in Sep 45! So I for one would not want to see a save editor, which I guess is what you are referring to.

i would love to see one. If you are concerned with corruption, you dont need to use it. And I could see it possibly *saving* an ai or pbem game that gets hosed because of some bug or unforseen event (like the old 20k pilot issue that i read about on the witp forums).

For security, you could make it so that both players need to enter their password to 'enable' it in PBEM mode, or something like that.

Matrix never did that - and I am happy with that.

Same here.

It is Matrix policy that save editors are not provided.

Shame. This may be what keeps me from getting AE.

And it was why I bought it. To each his own. If they ever do, I will quit playing and buying Matrix Games products.
