2isst Panzer counter-attack?

Post by Henri »

This operation name says that it covers a counter-attack by the 21st Panzer, but in fact every one of the 4 battles have the Germans defending and the British attacking. What kind of a counter-attack is that? [&:]

I haven't had time to look at all the battles and operations, but I presume that there ARE battles where the Germans are the attackers? How about the one where Von Luck took out his pistol and forced the commander of an 88 anti-aircraft battery to shoot at the British tanks (saying "you either die or you get a medal!"), causing massive casualties to the British tanks? (I think it was in Operation Goodwood). If not, it would be a fun scenario to play (as the Germans...[:'(]).

I just got the game, so my knowledge is limited ( I chose "elite" for my allied units in the first scenario on the list thinking that it would give me elite units; needless to say I got my clock cleaned...[:o]): are the scenarios mostly balanced, or when the scenario shows a stronger force for one side, is that a sign of imbalance or a requirement to balance the battle?

And...oh yes, why is there not a brief description for each battle? There is no indication of where the enemy is or where he enters the map in a defensive scenario, and so on.

In Parry and Riposte the 21 Panzer enter the scene a distance from the on going battle.

They are then given the opportunity to attack toward the coast if and when the frontline German BG can't hold the line.

Try it as the Germans if you want to bring the 21Pz into action sooner.

The difficulty sliders in fact work counter intuitively.

The labels refer to the commanders skill level (you).

Elite would tend toward weaker/fewer units  Recruit toward stronger/more units.

If you check the "View map"before each battle you get a hint of the deploy areas.

Goodwood was a British attack... you can't attack with 88's... also Goodwood is beyond this releases time frame.

If the area above the sliders is mostly red then the german forces are stronger.

if mostly Green the allied forces are stronger.

Move the sliders and see the Red/green balance change.
