How is the AI of this game?

Post by Longstreet_slith »

I have not followed discussion about this game, so am not sure what people think of the AI. I am very interested in purchasing. Someone convince me that this game is outstanding and has a competitive, solid AI.

Hi,

I think that you might wish to try the demo:
tm.asp?m=2520892

It should gave you a rough idea how does the game plays and how does AI reacts.

The AI is pretty good and even better in the Rising Sun Campaign.

My Australian AAR, going on currently, shows an aggressive, competent AI. I am having a tough time with it.

Hi Longstreet thanks for joining us. About the AI, good and not so good at times, I find it very aggresive most of the time especially in the opening phases, but as the game progress it seems to lose its way as in all AI's everywhere, for example in the opening moves the AI looks great easily defeating an AI China an AI British India, and pretty much giving the USA all it could handle, but much later in the game say from the 120th move on it seems to get stagnet, for example I have bypassed Tarawa and the small islands for several reasons one with the size of the Japanese forces on the island rating of a 10 power [size] it would be very diffuclt to dislodge them from Tarawa and really no point in it. I am now defeating the major Japanese forces on New Guinea with the help of the Aussies and the AI [Japanese carriers and the rest of the fleet] instead of helping the outmanned troops on New Guinea they are attacking Midway move after move for no reason whatsoever. I am not knocking the AI just pointing out some things, in the begining of the game it was useless to go up against the Japanese fleet but now even with just a few losses it doesnt post much of a threat anymore and I dont know why. I have heard complaints about the manual but I find it adequate. The interface seems well done no complaints, they added a feature of fleets and ships lost but it is at best a non-enity unless its corrected. The graphics are well done the music adequate as are the game sounds. My conclusion is that with alittle more effort the game could be a superstar in the gaming world[&o] but as of yet I am not sure Wastelands wants to commit to that.
