A handful of questions

Love the game. I just have a few questions that I hope someone can solve:

1. I am having problems reforming German divisions that have been broken into regiments. I have the regiments in the same hex but no matter how many times I hit the b button they will not reform into one division. I also have problems breaking up my panzer divisions into regiments ( currently playing 1944 campaign).

2. I have read in the manual that one can allocate AAA batalions into cities - how is this achieved - can someone provide a step-by-step instruction.

3. I have read the forums and have found that air power works better for bombing airfields if the detection level is high via recon. Is this correct? Does this apply for other factors, such as standard ground attacks or air attacks on enemy units.

4. How does generate CAP for their airforce. I want fighters in some sectors to simply concentrate on defending rather than off escorting bombers.

5. Can I change the equipment allocated to my divisions. For example, if Division X has tank type A and I want it to have tank type B, can I make the change. I understand from these forums that I have no control over production (unlike the original WIR).

Any assistance will be welcomed.

WIR was one of my favourite games - thrilled that this new version is now out.

Are the units in static mode? Should be able to breakdown unless stacked with another unit. You can send a save to 2by3@2by3games.com and give me a unit and hex to test.

You click on the hex, and then click on the city name in the top right. You should then have a way to assign units to the city. I think they must come from OKH/Stavka.

Yes, always better to attack units/air bases with higher detection levels.

4. How does generate CAP for their airforce. I want fighters in some sectors to simply concentrate on defending rather than off escorting bombers.

You can only change the global air doctrine settings that determine the amount of CAP versus escorts for various missions.

5. Can I change the equipment allocated to my divisions. For example, if Division X has tank type A and I want it to have tank type B, can I make the change. I understand from these forums that I have no control over production (unlike the original WIR).

No, you can't allocate equipment. By setting to refit you can increase the chance that a unit will upgrade to a newer model, but that's it.
