Is this behavior by Ancient Guardian WAD?

Post by Tavior »

I got a random event from a ruin and it point me to a ideal planet with good resources. The event was "A lost colony of your race has been found event".

I rushed to the location since my empire has low population growth, Dhayut, only to find out that an Ancient Guardian was patrol the planet. The Ancient Guardian would do this action commonly especially for a rare resource.

I believe they had no knowledge of the ruin/message but just had bad luck that they were already in the area around it and took it. I think it was fixed in the patch that they wouldn't touch ruins and other stuff?

I had to use the game editor to get it back since this is a barely beginning empire with lot of 50 million - 30 million and a few captured/colonized independent planets. I wasn't in a position to go war over it.

If necessary I can pull a picture of the random event message and a save game just few sec after the takeover to show example.

I believe it may be WAD, as they do it on all high value (read rare resource) planets. They don't blockade it, but they will attack pirates for you.

Sounds like a bug to me.

Ancient Guardians shouldn't be expanding - regardless of the circumstances. Lost colonies should go to the first race to find them - but the Ancient Guardians should be EXCLUDED.

You should re-post this issue as a bug report in Tech Support.

I am talking about the behavior by automatic ship when you queue up a constructor and an escort will park next to the planet to prevent pirate attacks. As far I know from patch note Codeforce certainly don't want Ancient Guardian grabbing everything.
Patch Note 1.5.0.2

Ancient Guardians no longer investigate ruins or investigate and acquire abandoned ships and bases

I will repost in the tech support.
