Gunboats need more use and Fort guns...

Post by battleground »

Historically gunboats on both sides would block supply and
movement across rivers. It is mentioned repeatidly most
especially on the Missouri and Mississippi that Union gunboats
simply would sink any Confederate supply boat and destroy
any bridge so that crossing these rivers to fight was an iffy
thing. This effect should have been included in the game with
effects upon supply being drawn across rivers to enemy forces
whose only supply line is thru an area that has an enemy gunboat.
would be nice to have gunboats both armored and unarmored and
with gun upgrades like ships to fight the forts.

Also question. Does fort artillery cause casualties to attacking
infantry?

Yes, fort artillery does damage to infantry.

Please copy your thoughts on gunboats to the "Wish List" thread, so they can easily be found if/when we do a FOF2. Thanks
