Icon/sprite unit counter mod?

Has anyone made a set of unit counters that use icons (such as actual tank shapes) or sprites? I think I'd like to try something like that instead of NATO counters.

Alternatively, I vaguely recall seeing a unit counter mod where the counters were instead 3 letter words such as INF or ARM or CAV. Was that a real thing?

I believe he is looking for pictures instead of flags. ie: tank for armor , men for infantry , halftrack for mech , something of that nature. i have not seen anything like that maybe someone with some creativity has a project.
