Panzer's Weekly

Post by Obsolete »

Some of the oldschool PG fans may remember the old e-zine Panzer's Weekly. There used to be a player Whoopy-Cat who often wrote a small but highly indepth essay now and then regarding Panzer General mechanics or strategy.

I always loved his style of writing about his learned knowledge of those aspects, and it's something I would not mind trying to duplicate in some manner regarding Combat Command.

I'm a bit busy as of late, but at least tomorrow night my current mid-term will be over, so I can get a little breather for a bit. I was thinking on trying to get by with a bi-weekly (small) essay regarding Combat Command.

I'm not sure what topic to start with, but what I can randomly pull a couple dozen aspects off my head like retreats, direct fire, bombardments, etc...

Suggestions?

From what I can remember of our PBEM games, withdraw always puzzled me and may be changed in the update and artillery never worked as I expected. I know you tried to coach me on what is going on but the math was baffling. Anything you can write about the basics will help people get into the game.

I'd agree - start on a nice easy one like withdrawal. Maybe something like 'How to make your units run away' [;)]
