Special Abilities and Attributes

Post by balto »

For QC, some of them are still slightly confusing.

For example in Special ABILITIES: Woodsmen - in QC, so you need to be in the Woods to get the +20 Def? Blasted - do you only get the +20 Att when fighting Arty? etc., etc..,

In ATTRIBUTES. these seem VERY different from Special ABILITIES. A lot of the ATTRIBUTES do seem to apply to apply to QC, but it really hard to determine when. For example,

Medical, I think you get the +10 Def and +15 Morale PLUS the reduction of DISEASE.., I think. But then you go to Signal Corps and you cannot figure out how that narrative works in QC, if it works at all.

This was addressed in the forum several years ago, so I guess it's time I clarified this issue again:

Both special abilities and brigade attributes give bonuses in Quick Combat. To use your example, a unit with Woodsmen will fight a bit better, even though QC has no woods. Same with attributes -- even if it's not obvious that an attribute has a specific role in QC, it will still make the unit better. In other words, whereas in detailed combat you can see abilities and attributes doing specifically what they are designed to do, in QC they are generally abstracted bonuses.

Gil,

Thank you again.

Three in particular are of interest to me.

Does Medical still help fight disease in QC?

Does Scout still help spot and increase risk to Raiders in QC?

Does Sharpshooters still increase chance to kill General in QC?

Thank you.

Disease is only on the strategic map.

Raiders aren't part of QC.

I'm pretty sure that sharpshooters do help kill generals.
