Modifying Morale and Experience

Modifying 1941 campaign: How do I modify an existing Soviet ground or air unit's morale or experience? I changed ground unit's morale and experience to 65%. When I started the campaign the morale and experience changed back to about 35%

There is a scripted code which runs once you load scenario in the game. It is randomizing Soviet unit morale and experience. Also it adds disruptions and damage simulating the surprise effect.

Currently the only way to avoid it is to set starting date to some other date - ex. 23-June-1941. But it will remove the whole "first turn surprise" effects.
