Loaning money question

Post by Dancing Bear »

Hi all
many have reported that loaning is not working in 1.08.07. The work around is to use the editor. However, in tracking down the bug, have you noticed whether loaned monies are being subtracted from the sender, as well as not being recieved by the intended recipient?
I believe the money is being subtracted during the diplomacy, but is it being returned to the sender during the economic phase? some have reported this, but it does not make much sense.

According to my experience usually loaned money is deducted from sender's treasury immediately (i.e. during diplo phase) without reaching the intended recipient during the economic phase.

Sometimes loaning functions perfectly (as Turkey some times ago I have received a loan from France).

I never heard that loaned money ever returned to the sender.

How do you do it in the editor? I'm playing solo and when I open the editor it's a bunch of blank spaces, how do you open an existing game?

Dancing Bear is mistaken (or more likely has used the wrong term), you don't use the editor, you can simply use the PBEM Administration Menu (The @ sign on the top row). This contains an easy to use function for adding (or subtracting if you put a negative number in) money and PPs.

I'm playing solo though not a PBEM. Is there any way to change it for that or am I really going to have to transfer files back and forth between myself and simulate a PBEM to get this thing to work?

Sorry, I didn't notice that. You mean it doesn't work on a standalone game either ? Oh dear, sorry I can't think of a way around this.

I started a game as Russia vs everyone else AI, requested money from British ally, they sent it, I never got it. So then I started a game where I was everyone, during British turn sent money to Prussia Russia Austria, none of them received it during their eco phase.

If St George's golden cavalry is really broken, and they've stopped patching, then I guess I just threw away 60 bucks

I too tried to loan money to a major power while playing solo as France and Spain against the AI. I sent the money twice from France to Spain thinking I messed up the first time but neither time did it show up in the next Economics phase. It sure would be nice if this were fixed since it's a useful function that should work. I thought I saw something about a 1.09 patch to fix up the AI, hopefully there will be a 1.09 patch that will fix this broken money lending to major powers.
