Any plans for a campaign game on pc ?

This exciting new release is a faithful adaptation of the renowned Conflict of Heroes board game that won the Origins Historical Game of the Year, Charles Roberts Wargame of the Year and the James F. Dunnigan Design Elegance Award, as well as many others!

Designed and developed in cooperation with Uwe Eickert, the original designer of Conflict of Heroes, and Western Civlization Software, the award-winning computer wargame studio, no effort has been spared to bring the outstanding Conflict of Heroes gameplay to the computer. Conflict of Heroes includes an AI opponent as well as full multiplayer support with an integrated forum and game lobby. To remain true to the core gameplay of the board game, the PC version is designed to be fun, fast and easy to play, though hard to master. The game design is also historically accurate and teaches and rewards platoon and company-level combined arms tactics without overwhelming the player with rules.

Any plans for a campaign game on pc ?

Post by PKH »

I saw you added support for carrying over troops from one mission to another, so I wondered if there are plans to make use of this in a future PC title ?
A campaign which lasted long enough for unit upgrades etc. would be really cool. It could just be a series of linked maps where you advanced if you won, and moved back if you lost, while upgrading and replacing units between missions.

My wish for a campaign system would be something like the historical modules in ASL, as in Red Barricades. You fight over a certain (large) map over a series of campaign dates. Some units are assigned to you and you can purchase others from a historically available list. Force preservation is important so this is a wonderful leap up from standalone scenarios. A lot of play testing would be required for these things of course.

The other type of campaigns I have seen are those that follow a certain formation through n years of the war. PCO has these. Personally I am not interested in this type of campaign.

That's just a scan of the original.
Now if I can do a conversion and somehow get it to work with new map tiles,..
Still early on, and still learning.
I haven't had a chance yet to look at how Eric's implemented campaign hooks work.

This is something I definitely would like to do, but the precise plans for this will depend on how well COH continues to sell.
