Can you split off Kaga and it still get an extended move on turn 1?

Post by sanderz »

Hi all

I have seen lots of posts about taking kaga out of the PH attack (as its slow) however does this mean it loses its extened move? If not how do you achieve it as when i set it up in its own Air Combat TF it only did a standard move.

Thanks

You have to transfer it into another (*) TF and keep the warp speed on turn 1.

there is only one other (*) and thats the AO TF - so i assume it can't be that

i'm pretty sure the TF with just 2 TDs gets an extended move - even though it doesn't have an (*) however Kaga can't transfer to it because there is no option to change it to an air combat TF that i can see

am i missing something here?

many thanks

If you move the AOs out of the replenishment TF and change the remaining DDs to "Escort" you can tranfer the CV´s you want in. Then change the TF to Air Combat.
Changing the DDs to Escort is the key that allows to move in the Kaga.

edit: The both bombardment DDs you mentioned should also have warp speed as you said.

I use the DD TF since I don't want to send them to Midway. Make it an escort TF and then you can transfer the Kaga into it and it will automatically change to an ACTF.
I think that the two obligations you have are to be good at what you do and then to pass on your knowledge to a younger person

That's what I did in my current game and it worked like a charm.
