ABDA DEI Command

Post by dr.hal »

I've a quick question. I've never been able to get to the point in a game where the ABDA command goes away, but I can't help but wonder what happens to units "assigned" to that command when it does? There are a number of threads devoted to understanding the importance or lack thereof in terms of LCUs and their commands, however I can't find anything that addresses the issue above. Do units under that command automatically switch over to something else? Do they remain under that command until there are enough excess PPs to do a switch? Just wondering.... Thanks in advance. Hal

The ABBA units only go away when the Japs destroy them or when the they are transferred to another command and evacuated. I've read that a good human player can hold Indonesia for ABBA against the AI or a weak human player.

The AI in WITP, for me, had problems taking Soeerbaja and Manila.  I reached Sep '42, and those two cities were still holding out after several months.  In Manila's case, 6 months of zero supply.

In one of my AE games, ABDA has been gone for a months.  I still have units around under that command.  On the grouind side, it probably doesn't matter, but if it were an air HQ, I would be swapping commands.
