Having a ball...

Post by Tellboy24 »

Just thought I'd let you know how much I'm enjoying this game, took the plunge and glad I did. Only played the first tutorial so far but this is better than I'd expected, only and "average" score at my first real attempt, but hey not bad for a newby. Oh Baloogan, great tutorials, very informative!

Totally agree. I'm glad I saved up my little gaming budget and went for CMANO.

Also, +1 Baloogan.

As I keep saying, dollar per second of gametime is goingto be veeery low...

I am having the most fun actually NOT playing the game i.e. prdparing the operation plan while I am at work.

Yeah, other people who play other stuff might think me crazy but this is hands down the most fun per Euro ever :)
Even when I'm just looking for database pictures and writing/copypasting DB descriptions.
Its like a mixture between a stamp collection and a chessboard :P

agree great fun both with the scenarios and the editor - and the current build sees the game in an even better state now - i like very much being involved with the Air to air combat, the game is not just playing out inevitabilities. there are occasions where i am changing height speed and direction of my aircraft to try and outmaneuver the enemy - its a unique level of play and one where i could actually try and employ some of the combat maneuvers outlined in my old copy of Modern Air Combat (to think got that years ago as a kid to try and use with F15 Strike Eagle on my gameboy - a futile effort, but the hardcover books in that series a top notch full of info diagrams and pictures)

Command is a great game! I'm enjoying it even more than watching cat videos on YouTube.

YouTube cat videos do not model the cats sensors or weapon systems very accurately in my opinion. Command has far better fidelity.[;)]

And there are not many cold war cats included.

It's well worth noting that ALW's Cats premiered in 1981 - exactly the year when Ronald Reagan started the USA military buildup.

Coincidence? I think not.

Somebody please put us out of our misery and do a "cold war cat" DB entry along with a suitably serious b/w Russian tabby photo, or an all american test pilot feline with jutting jaw and perfect teeth. I can see it now......"Loadouts --> felt collar with small brass bell".....VTOL capability......

A quick search brought this;

hmmm An idea for a mission in the Korean DMZ. Both sides hunting a priceless extinct tiger after reported sightings. US troops deploy a huge range of high tech sensors from ground radar to orbital cameras.
North Koreans employ the "great patriotic saucer of milk".

Here's a Russian Blue vs. Maine Coon cold war scenario on YouTube:
