UI Features I

In a less conventional series of previews, we'll be showing off some of the game's menu and UI panels over the next few weeks. Closer study of these screenshots can reveal all sorts of secondary gameplay features.

The unit force popup list allows you to review your current forces. Destroyed Core units can also be reviewed and revived in the "Destroyed Units" tab.

Possibly not very on the topic, but will the in game mini map reflect the weather conditions? For example, if the terrain is muddy or covered in snow, will the mini map show the same terrain colour/effects as that of the real battle map?

The game has rainy weather which is visualised with actual rain, but terrain doesn't change with weather. And no snow in the Pacific [:)] Something for a Sino-Jap or Soviet-Jap war expansion perhaps.

Ok. I was thinking of the muddy/snow covered terrain from PG/PzC. It was sorta disconcerting in PzC when the terrain was white in game and the mini map next to it still green. I suppose on your nice 3d map it will be sufficient to show the rain falling instead of recoloring the ground.

And North America, a possibility that you`ve already mentioned. Speaking of which, if you do implement snow eventually, I hope you will consider some transition between snow and dry terrain. It has been mentioned by fans for PzC, where you could have frozen turning into dry the next turn. Should be some sort of muddy terrain transition between them.
