Opponent wanted

I have a couple of open server games, but no turns in over a week and an official resignation this morning so if like to get another game rolling.
Any scenario or campaign.
Haven't played grand campaign as WA so if you want me to play that side understand I'd like two or three days to figure out my OoB before you get back the first turn.

Also willing to play the bad guys.

My intention is to track the game and post and AAR. Won't start posting until we're far enough along that everything can be discussed without hazarding strategy.

Thanks for the offer. I'd rather play a server game and there are so many tweaks to equipment with each patch I'd rather stay with the beta as the campaign progresses (should have mentioned that in the original).

I posted here as opposed to just offering a random game on the server in part because I hope to get an opponent interested in 'seeing it through' and finding out how things go after the first three months.

My mod works over server.
Also, equipment tweaks will not take effect if you install a new patch, only on restart.

So if I install your mod, we start our game, and then I revert back to original files it won't cause a problem?
Didn't realize those pieces of information were also included in the saved games.

I also presumed the changes that wouldn't 'translate' into existing games were the alteration of starting equipment pools, not the equipment stats. Are you sure about that?

Hmmm, you are probably correct about that, pools and starts won't update but the data would change from a file change. Carp. Oh, well, I tried.

I think I can do a separate install without a problem. Won't get it done tonight but I'll pm game details tomorrow.

You can lock generic data in your mod, so all your changes stay inside the single scenario file and will be used instead of official generic data files. Later you can sync generic data with official .dat files if required.

While we're discussing this, I've asked how I can make two separate exe files, in two different directories, but when I run the .21 exe, the files from the other overwrite them. I'm using windows 7x64. I've had this happen twice and I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong here. I'm guessing it's a windows problem, as it only shows WitW as being installed only once. The directories have totally different names, and folders. They are both on the same drive. When I ran it right after I installed it it was fine, then I did turns using the Expansion Beta, and the files changed. The version I had installed with the mod was .21. Afterward they said version .24 exe.21.

Don't think I fully understand the issue. There shouldn't be any automatic overwrites. The tricky party is that version you see on the top is taken from registry which is set by the installer. If you make a copy and run it with other version it won't show up on the top, the only place to check is exe version on the main menu.

Let me try and explain better. I had the beta version installed normally in the normal directory. For the modded game, I installed the game up to .21 in a directory called Mike's Mod and had made a separate short cut to that exe. At some point before I had done the modded turn, I had done several other turns using my beta short cut, and when I went back to the modded short cut, the program didn't say version .21, exe.21 anymore, it said version .24, exe.21 at the opening menu, bottom right. I never installed any newer files to this directory and I don't understand why it changed except that it's maybe windows doing this, as you can only have one registry. As long as I don't use my beta game, the files stay fine, but when I run the beta they change files in the modded directory. I don't have the mod in my beta files.

What I'm trying to accomplish is to play Decourcy2's mod at the same version he has installed, which is .21. When I run my air phase it looks fine for me with version numbers in the battle reports, but when he gets it it's showing a totally different version in the battle reports.
