Why do COI AT guns not work right?

Post by US Brake »

In Close Combat III AT guns worked great. In Cross of Iron they have never worked right. The 2011 Patch made AT guns not work at all for 3 years. The 2014 Patch allowed AT Guns to work again, but they still don't work right. Could someone please explain why CC3 AT Guns needed a change in the first place? Is it possible to make a new patch for COI and go back to the old CC3 style of AT Guns that worked right?

Could you be more specific than 'still don't work right'? What behavior do you see that does not seem correct?

Thanks,

Steve

Hey Steve!

A comparison of the original CC3 AT guns to current COI AT guns reveals dramatic differences.

COI AT Guns have many glaring problems that CC3 did not have.

Placement in buildings: You can still deploy in building but not as in the past. I find I am no longer able to place small AT guns in some of the building I used to use in CC3.

In CC3 one critical moment was when a H2H game starts and your troops are instantly faced with combat. In CC3 AT guns that had LOS of an enemy unit would immediately turn, face the enemy and commence firing when given the fire command. In COI AT Guns tend to start each match in confusion, they start driving, turning away from the enemy or are unresponsive. If they have LOS on an enemy tank you can give them the command to fire and they may not respond at all and usually require multiple fire and defend commands to get them to function. On rare occasions COI AT guns work normally at the start of a match.

Common COI AT gun problems that did not exist with CC3 include.

-Dropping LOS on target frequently.
-Refusing to fire
-Refusing to fire on tanks with armor too thick.
-Showing NO Ammo after only firing a couple rounds in first minute of game.
-Cremembers start Driving gun in middle of combat.
-Wrongfacing displayed frequently despite AT gun facing enemy with clear LOS.
-Slow and Unresponsive
-Seeking Cover while not under fire
-Winded after only 2 mins while unit is under defend or ambush command
-Crews moving gun back and forth aimlessly

Overall conclusion: I wish COI AT guns worked the same as CC3.
