Partisans, what's the difference between normal icon and crossed out?

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

That's weird... I've never seen that before hand.

I checked now in France and I have it.

It appears that Partisans can not spawn on the map if you are on top of their hex.

However, when I had units in Yugoslavia over the Partisan spawn spot for several turns, the Red crossed out circle never appeared. It has never appeared in that country.

There is another thread where partisans are appearing in Russia. They said there was a script error so I do not know if the two are related.

Not sure if the what the Red circle means.

The normal icon means that actual partisan units can spawn there, while the crossed out one means that resources will be damaged.

This is the correct answer. But there is a bug or discrepancy in Spain. There are four spots for partisans but an event fires that is different from these as it also impacts cities in the far south of Spain. Yet they are never marked on the map.

The Spain event always happens, regardless of partisan-patrol.

The crossed-out icons are check each turn and disrupt the city and the cities around it.
The non-crossed icons are also checked eachturn and also disrupts the city and the cities around it PLUS, they spawn a garrison.

You need to keep a unit next to each icon or on each icon to preventt his from happening.
So in some places in Russia, Spain and Yoguslavia, one troop can cover two partisan icons.

It doesn't matter which nationality your troop is nor which type nor which strength or tech.

Hi

If Spain is Axis then Republican Guerrilla activity may occur, and this is explained in a Pop Up during the game to the Axis player.

They can't appear when pressing a P like normal partisans as they are fighting against Spain's government, whereas all other partisan activity in game is effectively in support of its own government. To have a P appear there would confuse Allied players when they conquer/liberate Spain, as they would fear partisan activity in those areas that isn't going to happen, because it is purely anti-Franco/Axis.

I hope that explains it? [:)]

Yes I understand that very well. The problem is if you don't remember the cities named in the pop-up event then you can't go back to it and find out which ones they are. And pressing P doesn't help as you pointed out.

Understood. The towns are listed under DE 309 in the Strategy Guide too. I wish there were a way we could make them appear in game as such, but currently that isn't possible.
