Occupying Luxembourg by turn 2 ?

Post by spinecruncher »

Hoping someone is familiar with this scenario, the one where you need to destroy ebenemael and occupy Luxembourg by turn two. I definitely occupy the two little white flags at Luxembourg by the end of turn two but when I click end of turn I get a message that the objective failed, that Luxembourg is not occupied.

Can anyone shed some light on this? Could it be a bug? Thank you!

That objective is sneaky for two reasons:

One: You can only get to Luxembourg from the nearest German deployment hex if you pack an infantry unit in a truck. A tank is not fast enough and recon doesn't take territory.

Two: If you take Luxembourg in time, the reward is more negative than positive. A couple of bridges to the west are blown and territory around Luxembourg is converted to German. It's what does NOT happen that is important; you prevent a French counterattack in that region if you achieve this objective.

That said, the objective does work. I did it here, as I said, with an infantry truck. (Continued in next post).

Your question seemed to link Luxembourg with the other one to "Destroy Fort Eben-Emael in 2 turns." I did not test that one but they are not linked, if that is your impression. Here, I let that objective fail by advancing to turn 3:
