PBEM Interface Bug

Hey,

Veteran of the very first SC here! I am trying to get to play my first PBEM++ game, but I'm having a lot of trouble with the interface. I can see a list of challenges, but upon selecting one the whole interface is bugged. The password box comes out for about half a second. The only things I get to see/click are checkboxes for "OK" and "Cancel", and they appear only after I hover my mouse over them. Before that they are invisible. If I try to host a game myself, the setup screen flashes only for a less than a second and I'm stuck with only the checkboxes again. Any help will be much appreciated!

I tried uploading and embedding a screenshot to illustrate the problem but seem to fail even at that.

There is an issue where the display does not properly show for some rare systems such as yours and this should be fixed with the next patch that should be available quite soon.

Hopefully you can wait until then?

I reported this bug last year. Even though the password box disappears, just start typing the password and it will re-appear. We have been able to play a number of PBEM games by doing this.

Fantastic, thanks a lot! By rare you must be looking for a word like.. antique, pre-historic. [:D] I still have the original game on my hard drive. By the way, the minimum system requirements state 4GB of RAM. I'm running only 2GB (maxed out for the motherboard) and the game works just fine, except for the interface bug. No crashes at all. Granted, I've heavily modified my virtual memory settings. It's good to know there's a fix coming, I'll be waiting - though in the meantime will look to find a suitable work-around.
