Automatic Air Directive creation - Germans

Post by nukkxx5058 »

Hi, why is there no "Strategical AD" section in the German's Automatic AD screen creation in the Grand Campaign [GC] ? At the same time, the "strategic bombing directives" button [F4] is active and missions can be manually set up. Any idea ?

Thx

I'd suspect that the Germans have no bombers that the underlying game code would call 'strategic' so it wouldn't mean anything as an instruction to the AI.

There's a few of these relationships that are opaque in WiTW but the greater accessibility in WiTE2 at least allows you to see.

So in effect, you, as a player, can make that relationship but the code doesn't.

The more plausible (rail yards/ports) are on the tactical list and I'd struggle to think of much else I would run as the axis

How well does the Automatic AI Air Directive do in WitW?

Especially for Allied.

its ok, I think you need to move to a sort of mix of using that to generate the basic air directives and then tweak them a little to fit what you know you really need.

it works at a very high level, put x% of planes on GS, y% on GA, hit railyards. It'll give you a decent spread but you may then decide that it has picked the wrong set of railyards and so on

it does a decent enough job moving your airforce up as the front advances, incl say from England to France and so on. So vs the AI on 100%, it will give you a good basis for a decent game where you can avoid paying too much attention to the air war.

Thanks, it's same in WiTE 2 beta, I don't like micromanaging air war. [8D]

I have WiTE, WitW with Torchand too little time to play [:'(] Only played Westwall in WitW.
