Looking for a Soviet for 1941 No Early End (Closed)

Post by J3holland »

Experienced player, but not all the nuances I see in some of these feeds [;)].

All FOW
Lock HQ Support
Automate AI Air
Enhanced Player TB OFF. (If I don't control the unit in action, I shouldn't control what theater they go to)

Will be a deliberate game, a turn a week, sometimes more.

Looking for the long haul.

Hello there. I would be interested if you are still looking. I have more experience with WitE1 but have played a bit of this version. I am still not feeling up to playing as Axis, but the Soviet side is more forgiving so I play them! The pace is good for me. Let me know if you are up for it.

Hey there, I sent a couple PMs but you haven't responded. I don't have your real email address so hopefully this will generate a ping that I need you to look at your inbox! The game is going really well, very historical, but you please need to update your version.

Thanks
Darby

OK, it's all updated now. Yes, it's been great! Very enjoyable. I've been somewhat deliberate with following historical objectives and timelines, for now.. :D. We'll see what happens when the mud gets here, which is soon. I almost had you East of Kiev but 4th Panzer ran out of fuel at the last moment. It's been interesting driving armored formations through Ukraine as I watch real armored formations drive through Ukraine on TV as well.

You have no idea how interesting it is for me now to attack in my game for the Russians in Ukraine, when I myself live in Ukraine and I constantly hear all the names on TV and I myself have been to many places many times! And all those destruction of cities and the death of people are now being repeated on this earth again!
Sorry, i use an online translator :(

Great! I get what you mean about seeing the place names in the game while seeing them on TV. It does sometimes feel a bit trivial to be playing the game while seeing the destruction of actual war, but I guess we all have to compartmentalize to some degree.

As far as this game, yes it is really interesting! So close to historical lines for the start of the mud season. One thing that is interesting to me is that you didn't get too many encirclements but you have constantly hammered my lines with high odds (in your favor) attacks which generates so many routs each turn for me. I have lost over 1.7M troops, which is ok, but I have so many units that are basically worthless because they have minimal cadres and craptastic morale. August was rough. Was sending to reserve or merging more units than were coming on as reinforcements. So while I have a fair total establishment right now, so much is low quality. The supply tether is what has saved me. So the wrecking ball strategy can work I think. The issue is that there is potential for me to rebound a bit faster with more units and troops on the map if you don't keep up the drain. What that means I think is that 42 will be more interesting than usual.
