Just checking ... Union engineers?

That's the fifth I encounter, against Union AI, which is in trouble, so definitively not 'buying everything'. I would like to be sure the AI scripts are balanced and do not have a fetish for engineers! So are they coming by scripts?

The Union AI gets one free engineer, in late 1861.

I'm a little confused by this post - are you saying the AI has five engineers on the map at once (which shouldn't be possible), or that you simply keep killing them and new ones are being built?

He's probably asking the latter question. I also destroyed five engineer units in the course of a game.

Most likely his real question is why is the Union AI investing over and over again in what is basically a weak unit for building defenses. I can see the Confederacy needing one or two, but the Union, not so much.

Unless the Union AI just finds they neatly fit the bill for finishing off the balance of the MPP treasury for one turn. (As every bureaucrat knows if you don't blow through your full budget you get less next time). :mrgreen:

Yes as Platoonist says. Also I'm in flexible force pool, so I have indeed seen 3 at once, for a total of 5 spotted.

I'm saying that I believe Ai is prioritizing them far too much, whereas I can assure you its 'main units' force pool is not empty, I'm making sure of that :D
