Assault Pods on Spaceport not working

Assault Pods on Spaceport not working

I added Assault Pods to a spaceport to capture attacking ships but it's not working.
The spaceport also has ion weapons, tractor beams and jump inhibitors which disable & hold attacking ships.
But the Assault Pods never launch and the attacking ships just get destroyed.

Why don't bases (spaceport, mining station, defense base, etc.) use Assault Pods correctly?
Or am I doing something wrong?

Its a role thing; only Fuel Tankers can use Fuel Transfer, only ships can use assault pods. There isn't an existing list of what components work with what, but I will say that Energy to Fuel only works on stations.
