Invasion and logistics

Post by Sarcazmo »

I recently signed a contract for X Logistics points over Y Turns. The units I move via the Strategic move option (one unit per turn, normal?) arrive and are then effectively cut off, no supply follows along with the invasion.

I started on a fairly small island and that's where my SHQ is. How do I supply my troops on a different continent/island if the MTH doesn't transport my supply. Do I need to raise a second SHQ on my homeisland and then somehow assign it to the invasion area?

Any help welcome,
Magnus

The MTH simply provides a logistics line. No different then trains or air bridges do.

If that logistics line is to small, then it is to small.
If the SHQ does not send stuff over, the issue is in the SHQ.

You might also want the MTH to make a makeshift port to reduce the penalty for supplying units across the sea without a port.

Yeah I slapped down a makeshift port as soon as the first boots hit the ground but noone ashore is getting supplied.
I gave up on that map and restarted since I figured I had broken my country so much it couldn't afford to send the supplies or something. New map is going even worse for me, looking at bankruptcy at around turn 12, no machine parts and no credits to buy machine parts with.

Maybe I should just stick with Advanced Tactics instead, Shadow Empires is clearly too complicated for me. Everytime I read the manual I go "aahh ofc, makes sense, I get it etc". The I roll a very easy planet and nothing makes sense haha.

Thanks for your answers to my invasion problem though :)

Produce Rare Metals. Ideally in a mine.

Selling those is a good way to supplement your income early game.

Remember that you can Workshop the machine parts !
(But yeah, check trader prices to see if that makes sense.)
