Freezes during battles

Hi there,

I am experiencing a freeze whenever I get into a battle. The first round runs fine, then I deduct the casualties and the game seems to calculate the next round but thereafter, nothing seems to be happening anymore and I have to ALT-CTRL-DEL out of the game.

Any suggestions?

Could you post a save of your land combat phase? I'll take a look. Most all combats are working fine now, but you may have found an exception that warrants investigation and a fix. I'd like to get all lingering issues fixed before going final on the next release, soon. Thanks.

UPDATE. You may possibly have a bad install so a clean re-install may help? You may have to run the installer as administrator, and maybe also in Safe Mode. And prior to running the game, set program compatibility to Win XP SP2.

I'll work on the save. It literally happens in the first few turns of the game. I'll also try out your suggestions. Stay tuned and thanks for looking into this.

I also get these weirdly disjointed and chaotic battle interface (see screen shot). Same for the strategic map. Could a font issue? If so, how do I fix that?

Maybe bad combat messages with the wrong font are contributing to the battle freezes. I don't know. But I haven't seen any battle freezes in a long time.

I'm getting battle freezes too. I'll try the clean install again, the Quixely fonts and the Win XP SP2 settings to see what happens.
