AI 110 Boost on Combat Strength

Post by Dereck »

When you set the AI's morale to 110% in the game settings one of the consequences is that the combat strength of it's units gets a 10% boost.

Is there any way to either negate that or to give the Soviet units a 10% boost just to their combat strength?

Yes, you can increase the National Morale (NM) of the Soviet Union by multiplying the current NM by 1.1, as this is how the morale level in the difficulty setting works. For instance, if the Soviet NM in 1941 is 50 by default, you can raise it to 55, to have the increased combat efficiency without the boni the AI would get just by setting its morale difficulty setting at 110.

JFYI: changing the number indicated by the red arrow will give a flat increase in Ground/Air/Naval NM; changing the values in the panel indicated by the blue one will dinamically affect the NM based on the time period.

Yes I know that but I DON'T want to increase the National Morale over what is originally set. For example at the beginning of the game Soviet National Morale is 45. In the editor I would set it to 41 and when I set Morale Level at the Game Options to 110 it would become 45 and the combat values would also be 10% more. However, the other extra benefits of having >100 morale I don't want the Soviets to have.

This might have more unintended consequences so I will put this on hold and think about it possibly next scenario.

Sorry, from your original post I understood that you wanted to change the combat performance of the Soviet Union without giving it all the bonuses that setting the Sov. AI to 110 would give.

Sorry it was probably my not explaining things well. And I think I solved my problem (will have to see). Instead of increasing the Soviet morale and getting the other unwanted benefits I just decreased Axis and Axis-allied national morale to 90% so when I set the game's morale setting to 110 the morale of the Germans, for example, will still be the 75 that it was in the scenario instead of being boosted into the 80s.
