SHPs in Next Version?

Post by Matt R »

Hello Gentlemen-

What type of new SHPs can we expect in the upcoming release? Just terrain, or will there be vehicle and infantry updates as well?

Thanks,
Matt.

I'm only aware of the 7 updated terrain SHP's that will be included in v8 (actually there's 4 zoom levels of each for a total of 28 SHP files); though Bryan Melvin would be the one who could give the definitive answer.

Matt, that is an excellent Sherman, I'm sure if they hadn't almost finished the latest and possibly last mod for SPWAW they would have taken you up on that offer. Just my opinion. If you ever finish that project let me know, I for one would love to try it out.......chief

Hey there Chief!

Thank you for the compliment! Actually it's just a result of some doodling and fanagling with Windows Paint and Adobe PS. Was kind of timing myself to see if they were going to do a graphics update before I started one myself.

Good to hear from you my friend. Hope everything's well.

Thanks,
Matt.

Hey Tracer -

I appreciate that! Never been very good at terrain icons. That's best left up to Harry  and he's done some great work on them. Although I would like to see some better marsh and water icons..

Thanks,
Matt.

Hello Jake -

Thanks for the compliments. Very nice StuGs! Did you do that magnificent Panzer 35t as well?

Well, I was going to postpone any new vehicle icons until after the next update to see what would already be done. But I am interesting in generating specific icons for the MegaCamps - check out my Japanese and German infantry. Interested in such a project?

I am going to do a total overhaul to the infantry icons, for WaW and SP:WW2. Eventually...

Let me know if you're interested. All will not be lost my friend :)

Have a good one buddy!

Thanks,
Matt.

You've got real talent there, my friend, too bad we didn't have you on board when I was making the icons originally, we could've really used your work then, it was really balls-to-the -wall to get everything together!!!! If you're interested in helping me out maybe with my Korean War Mod, some specialty infantry would be awesome!!! I'de need to find out from PL how he did the exe for summer/winter swapping though... Keep up the great work man!! :D

Your icons are just like figures! There's real spirit on them!

What magnificient Pz 38t? The original? No. I think it was Warhorse who edited it.
What do you mean with generating specific icons for the MegaCamps? Mostly I have been editing German and Soviet icons since I know their vehicles best. I'm also curious to see what the new icons in ver. 8.0 are and this time I don't know what to do with my newest icons. I have only about ten new icons. I think I let Karsta add them on our page. You got many more vehicles, I presume?

Yes, I redid that one. If you go over to the SPColormods forum, here-http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SPColorMo ... d=60805652, you have to join, but in the files section, under "German Stuff. zip", there are TON'S of obscure German icons I made, and also remakes of all the French tanks, and also some new Polish stuff, as well as others!! Worth a look-see if you are into icons!!! I'm mostly playing SPWW2 now (ducks from thrown objects), since the icon data table is so huge now, lots of room for 'toys'!!!

Whatcha say, Mike!

Been a while since I've heard anything from you bud. Been doing allright? How's the Korean War mod going?

Aw well, maybe it's a good thing, since my work then was awful :o

I'd be glad to help you with that, Mike. Let me know what you need. Thanks for the kind words as well, like I said, they make it all worth it, as I'm sure you understand!

Send me an email with what you need, and I'll see what I can do. Got a Mog '93 mod for MBT on the burner so I'll see if I can get it in there.

Thanks,
Matt.

Hey Jake!

Must have been ol' Mike. Done in the style of Don Goodbrand and Joe Reiger - which I like very much.

About the MCs, I mean doing icons appropriate to that time frame, ie. tan icons for all German and British icons for DF, etc..

I am also very interested in seeing what's in 8.0, which is why I held off on doing any major icon upgrades. Save those icons buddy! I can't seem to get to your page, so could you send me some samples? I like your style very much too. I've got a new Hummer and some other stuff, mainly for my Mog 93 mod. Send me an email with what you've got.

Thanks,
Matt.

Hi Matt, my mod is going slowly, what with time constrictions and all, but it is moving ahead!! If you could, I would really like infantry for the North Koreans, Communist China, most of the other nations were US supllied, so US figures are okay. I'll e-mail you with specifics, thanks man!!!

Hey Matt, Could you send me your Email address, please? I could then send you my icons. I tried through your profile but the Email there did not work.
