[WAD]Submarine tutorial 2.1 detection bug ?

Hi,
I've run all the previous tutorials without major problems (apart mine sweeping) until I ran into the Submarine tutorial 2.1 in which you have to hunt a chinese type 091 HAN with a trafalgar.

I've been trying it normally a dozen times and each time the contact is dropped. I know how to do sub hunting and I understand the general rules of detection, water layer, speed, etc...

I finally loaded the scenario and used god's eye from the editor, figuring that the chinese was a seawolf like sub managed by a expert crew that made cosntant route changes, depths, speed adjustment !

But no ! He just simply run a direct path starting NE of you and going SW in a straight line keeping CONSTANTLY 20 knots at 984 feet !!
And your sonar officer and your advanced sonars just simply are unable to plot it, whatever you try !

I think there's a serious coding problem regarding these features ! :shock:

It can be done.


But I only got it out of time :lol: (you may continue the hunting when the time is over).

"I followed the instructions to the letter and had no issues. It takes a while and can require several cycles of the sprints/creeps and right angle/to direct path. But each time I lost contact, following the instructions in detail got it back. But there there are multi-hour stretches where contact was lost."

just tried this now for you, doing as instructed, N.E found it straight away closed distance and destroyed with no problems, not sure whats going on unless you dont go N.E at first?, then doing the 90 deg track?

LOL ! Five torpedoes ! I guess you didn't wanted to loose contact for the next hours

Yeah, did not want it to escape after hours of hunting.

But so much are necessary.
