pin some menu items

Post by crestofawave »

is it possible to say pin the F2 speed/control menu to the screen, as i find it a pain it disappears sometimes, then you need it back during the course of events, be good to have it there consistently?

Too much work to work around everything that can go wrong from a technical point of view. Too much effort for little benefit.

I am not sure why its even needed. You have most of the speed/alt/depth controls on the unit status box already.

yes you can see on the databox, but dont you need to press F2 to change the speed/depth etc, so having it up and swapping between units makes it faster easier, if theres another way please let me know, especially when doing so for multiple units? thanks :)

I change almost all basic unit/group functions using the unit status display. Instead of asking, try it.

Thank you for the info not the attitude, as a new player it does take some getting used too, you can also fall into a used memory trap, as even the tutorial teaches you to use F2, and yes I will try it but you can set a more exact depth if needed with F2, again less I'm wrong, but maybe that's not needed, thanks for the info tho :)

The "attitude" is because instead of coming back and questioning the suggestion, it is easier for you and everyone involved if you just tried it.

obviously i will try it, but asking a question is what got the answer, so thank you anyway the point i was trying to make here is that you cant do it all with that menu, you cant run IN the layer for example if using a sub, you still need that menu (f2) i believe as not near pc to avoid cavitation, without changing doctrine i can still manually come to very near periscope depth without getting a dive warning, but again as a new player these are things i need to ask, you obviously knew the whole game the first time you ran it, good for you, i dont need an argument just a polite answer, i allways tell my students theres no stupid questions, just answers
