Proper patch path

Post by Lokisek »

Hi everyone,

I have returned to this game after a few years break and I´m not sure anymore about the proper update path (or which version is considered as "stable". I have searched the forum and found a lot of info but often it contradicts to each other :)

After a base installation I have 4 patches downloaded:

1126a
1126b
1127b
1128b

I would go for 26a, then 26b as those I know and played them before. But whats next? Do I need to go through 27b to 28b or can I skip 27b and go directly to 28b or should I stay at 26b?

I plan to look for oponent for stock map/scen 1 or 2 so I don´t have to consider any mods/versions.
Any advice, please?

Thank you in advance :)

Stick with 26b. There's another update in the works but it's a little ways out....GP

You only need to install one, as BTD64 said 26b is the best, arguably proven to have fewer flaws.

For what it is worth I have been playing with 27b ( I updated without paying attention) but so far it has not suffered any issues. But then again I am pretty easy to please.

I deliberately said flaws and not bugs as it's more to do with new game changes, some off them as I see it, have not been iron out yet. It is this reason I say 26b. I definitely wouldn't play 27b, 28b maybe.

If bit more adventurous, since it fixes few bugs.

I additionally use michaelm's unofficial v.27:

https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/view ... 3&t=386537

V1.01.27– 05 March 2022 (Game version shown as 1.8.11.27)

1. Ninth Update – This release is a comprehensive release updating all previous versions to v1.01.27
2. Code Changes
1. Naval support not present at 0(0) port once port is built up
2. Another underway ammo replenishment issue if AE unable to reload the biggest weapon on ship
3. Drawing ship a/c from pool at base uses replacement group if nearby
4. Tweak what is an 'instructor' for TRACOM purposes and allow casualties to them
5. Tweak group training mission not getting many op losses for low experience pilots (increased fatigue of low experienced pilots and aircraft)
6. Aircraft upgrading to blank airframe
7. Mines not removed from ships in non-ML taskforce
8. Repair/maint of seaplane not expending supply (1 point per plane from tender supply if more than seaplane support at base). Exceeding support did expend normal supply.
9. Added confirmation to ‘Disband TF’ button
