Fastest way to replete troop supplies.

Post by LoBlo »

What are the best troop management strategies.

1. Fastest recruiting method? Does cloning make troops quicker than the native population? If I overload all my generals in one spot does there recruiting bonus stack? The colony size seems to make a different as well.

2. Fastest troop recovery? I'm seeing that resting troops on there native planet type for some "shore leave" seems to recover them fastest.

Notice how fierce the Shakturi slayer swarms are? Capturing them and turning them into troops is a real boost.

Best way would be to stack recruitment rate bonuses.

Yes, generals together stack their bonuses.

Characters appear based on your actions, so clicking to recruit a bunch of troops will make a bunch of generals appear. You can abuse this by ordering the construction of troops, then cancelling unwanted ones.

Characters also get traits and abilities based on what you are doing at their location. So hiring troops while generals are around on that planet will give them recruit rate bonus (if they have less than 4 abilities).

If you are able, you can dismiss your leader, wait for a new one to appear, then hire troops to give him recruit rate bonus through traits/abilities.

Yes, more developed colonies hire faster.

I'm not sure if cloned troops get produced faster. Troop recruitment depends on the troop's health. Their health fills up every tick while under recruitment, until full. So troops with less health will get recruited faster. Cloned troops just offer you the chance to copy the best troops in your empire, with extra bonuses.

Either way, you need to plan for troop recruitment ahead of time, because it takes ages whatever you do about it. And spread it out as much as you can in different colonies. If you are desperate enough, you can always use the editor, if you don't mind.

Troop recovery rate works the same way. Developed planets recover troops faster, depending on medical rating, and character traits/abilities help. Troops on ships will therefore recover extremely slowly (or not at all if there's no medical module).
