Changing the size of the map or magnifying option

Post by Hassinator »

Is it possible to zoom in on the map, besides Right clicking on each square, to get more detail? (it's hard to see where the bridges are around towns without clicking the town or a unit around the town)
I read one forum that talked about a magnifying option sould be availble with the upgrade. Did that happen and how do you magnify the map?

Thanks for any help

There is a magnifying glass that was introduced with the 1.1x patch. Depress the ALT key to activate it and then if you have a scroll wheel on your mouse you can use that to change the zoom power,
Isn't that bizarre?

Thanks Rob,

I didn't realize this until I came and checked the post here.

I wish they had this feature in Ardennes and the basic KP. Spent lots of time squinting at the screen, turning off units and forts, etc., trying to scope out road nets on the dark, busy hex backgrounds. It didn't help that when you right-click a hex, if there's a triangle or fort indicating effect on combat, that would replace the road graphic along that edge of the hex.

The map graphics in AtD are vastly improved. Brighter, cleaner hex backgrounds, no squinting, don't mind that the hex-edge road graphic is lost as described, don't even need the alt- magnifier.

The magnifier is indeed a help, but it is still no substitute for being able to "zoom" in the entire screen and conduct ops on a totally zoomed map. I find the whole thing too small and that changing screen resolution does nothing. Is there a way around this?

Hi Solops,
At this stage, the alt-zoom feature is the only zoom feature in the game.
