just starting playing...few questions.

Post by sw_myers »

Well I want to say this is a great game. I've yet to get really involved, but have been messing around with the tutorial and the coral sea scenario...anyways, i have a few questions. (i've been reading the manual and have not gotten to the ground units portion...

1. How do you increase base support personnel and aviation personnel? do you have to send ground units in?

2. About supply (i've only played coral sea so it really hasn't been an issue for me yet) what is a good way to ship supplies? set up hubs on the route to the south pacific from hawaii?

3. in the coral sea scenario, my CV's got attacked by what appeared to be CV aircraft, yet i only knew of 1 jap cv near rabual(due to my sub spotting it) so does that mean that my search craft just didnt' find the enemy CVS?

I'm sure there will be a million more questions later on... but thanks for the help.

1. Turn on replacements to the unit and leave it in a non malaria base with alot of supply and it's parent HQ. Most units begin the game understrength. You can see their strength in the upper left corner of the unit display by the unit name (60/100) that is what it will look like. It is at 60% strength. You can also click on the TO&E button at the bottom to see full strength.

2. Supply is the most important detail of the game. Every one has their own method. I play Japan, so no clue for allied supply.

3. Could be land based a/c or you may have not spotted the other bad guy.

1. You have to ship in additional base and air support units, so you have to be selective about those big air bases you plan to build.

Later on in the game you start getting the big 270 base and air support units, which makes it easier.

The AI has it a bit easier. It can land a 30 air support unit and it builds up automatically to the base support requirements....
