Just been looking at the sys requirements...

Post by bluermonkey »

Windows 2000, XP
Direct X 9c
Video: 1024x768 or higher, 32 Video RAM (128 Mb Recommended)
CPU: 800 MHz Processor (2 GHz Recommended)
Memory: 512 Mb RAM (1 GB Recommended)
8 x CD-ROM
500 MB free Hard Drive Space
16 bit Direct Sound compatible Soundcard

I'm unsure if my system will play this or not. I have a 1.5Ghz CPU, 256MB RAM and a 64MB video card. The RAM is what concerns me most. Is there a demo I could try out?

Best of luck. You really should add some more RAM though - not just for this game but for your overall performance. I would say that 1 GB is the bare minimum these days.

Yeah, I'm sure you're right. For the time being though I'd still like to try and get this to work on my current setup.

Has anyone managed to run this game on 256MB RAM?

Yes, a few have (but they may have had 128 MB graphics cards). If the demo works for you, you should be ok with the game.

BM, I have been successfully running the game a long time now with a 64M video card and 384 megs of RAM.

Run low graphics setting and disregard the audio(music) cutting in and out on the load a saved game mode.

Do not try to run in window mode or you will get lock-up or CTD, ditto that for escaping from the game and coming back, never minimalize, just shut the game down normally and reload.

I downloaded, installed and successfully ran the GGWaW demo last night. There were some slight delays etc whilst playing, but nothing too drastic. Expect me to pop back into this forum at the end of the week to ask for a PBEM game. [:D]
