Mod and units that Morph

Can anyone figure out how to make the units physically upgrade after certain research has been done??? Ex. Propellor planes upgraded to look like jets when correct research is done? Tanks that upgrade into Panthers and King Tigers??

This would make to game more exiting. I cant seem to make any headway. perhaps someone else may have an idea to create a kick ass mod. Think about the possibilities. IF the old Axis and Allies Iron Blitz can do it. Surely a dude could get this accomplished. Let me know what you think.
