Questions about Gaining Resources from Captured Territories

Post by JiggyMcFly »

Okay, I've captured territories that have resources, repaired the factories and the railroads, as well as connecting factories and railroads, and seen no change in my linked resource pool OR my production capacity.

Am I doing something wrong here? I'm playing as Axis, by the way.

If I'm "missing something" could someone explain the possible limitations of resource and factory gain from a territory?

Also; in general, it is NOT profitable to repair things, correct? Essentially, I'm wondering if someone could explain the ENTIRE aspect of "maximizing benefits through captured territories."

Thank you!

The linked resource pool shows all the resources you are linked to - repaired or not.

If you repair the resource in say Western France then you will benifit from it. Now, initially the Germans have a small surplus of resources so the gain is just that you store more resources for later years when your production multiple goes up. Keep in mind - the resource you repair now wont produce for you till the next turn.

Personally, I repair a couple of the French factories right away for early production while I wait quite a while before I start repairing resources. Rail I repair only to the degree that I actually need it for strategic movement. So, Yugoslavia and the Netherlands only get their rail half repaired and Denmark is not repaired at all.
